Natural Gas Vehicles
I Overview
Natural gas vehicles are either designed or retrofitted to operate on natural gas instead of gasoline or diesel fuel.
II Applications
Natural gas engines, along with the requisite fuel storage and delivery systems, can be retrofitted into existing vehicles. Natural gas offers significantly lower tailpipe emissions and fuel costs than gasoline or diesel fuel. Significant tax rebates are also available to help offset first costs.
III Equipment Options
A wide variety of vehicles can be configured to use compressed natural gas, ranging from passenger cars to delivery trucks, to transit and intercity buses, or even garbage trucks.
Dual-fuel conversions are also available, allowing vehicles to burn both gasoline and natural gas.
