Heat reflectors reduce heat loss from old steam or hot water radiators. As radiators emit heat energy in all directions, including towards external walls, they will lose a portion that energy to the outside unless some kind of heat reflector is in place.
II Applications
In addition to keeping radiated heat in the room, reflectors direct heat back at the radiator that generated it. This means that the water returning to the boiler will be hotter than it was before, increasing the energy efficiency of the boiler.
