EPA, DOE, and HUD Release Guide on CHP, Reliability, and Resiliency

The Environmental Protection Agency (through its CHP Partnership) has joined with the Departments of Energy and Housing and Urban Development to develop the Guide to Using Combined Heat and Power for Enhancing Reliability and Resiliency in Buildings.  Its purpose is assist state and local officials and others involved in the Hurricane Sandy rebuilding process, and also to provide practical information on CHP, including what factors must be considered when configuring a CHP system to operate independently of the electricity grid, and what steps are involved in a typical CHP project development process.  The document responds to the CHP-related recommendations in the recently released Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Strategy
