Watertube Commercial
Boilers

Commercial Boilers
The “FLX” which do not require welding and are suitable for hot water or steam applications. The line of smaller commercial/industrial boilers also includes the “Model 4” which is an all welded steel watertube with membraned waterwalls to seal in the three combustion gas passes. This model ranges in size from 1500-6000MBH and is also suitable for hot water and steam applications to 500 psig. Its compact design allows it to slide through a standard 36” door opening. The remaining models rounding out the commercial line, include the Truefire and Clearfire firetube style boilers for hydronic heating applications.

The Truefire is a rugged all welded wetback firetube boiler, which can be modularized and automatically sequenced for larger heating loads and/or when varying heating conditions dictate a higher turndown requirement.
- 10 boiler sizes ranging from 300MBH to 3000MBH
- Burner capable of #2 oil, gas or combination

The Clearfire is another firetube style boiler using extended finned surfaces within its stainless steel tubes to enhance the heat transfer to the water on the outside. The boiler is capable of full condensing; attaining efficiencies of as high as 98% depending on the return water temperature.
- 4 boiler sizes ranging from 750MBH to 1800MBH
- Burner capable of natural gas firing

Cleaver-Brooks Burners
Cleaver-Brooks offers a complete line of burners to compliment its various designs of new boilers, many burners of which are also adaptable for retrofit on existing Cleaver-Brooks boilers as well as boilers of other manufacture. These forced draft burners are capable of firing multiple fuels including natural gas, propane and oil or, a combination if desired. When firing (heavy or light) oil, the burners use either mechanical or air atomizing to physically break down the fuel to a combustible level; fully automatic using the latest in flame safeguard technology and/or burner management control. We also offer fuel conversion kits for existing CB integral burners should availability of fuel or rising prices become an issue.
If lower emissions is a critical factor, all of our burner conversions are designed to accommodate that requirement as well. Using the latest developments in low NOx technology as pioneered by NATCOM, the burners are capable of NOx levels of <9PPM depending on burner type and application.
All of the burner packages can be fitted to comply with CSD-1, IRI, FM and other insurance requirements and are fire tested before leaving the factory.
Cleaver-Brooks Profire burners cover the following ranges:
- Standard Design
- Profire model H: 1,000,000-12,500,000

Controls
LevelMaster
The basis of design called for use of a microprocessor based control system which embraced six (6) important design criteria: Simplicity, Safety, Security, Dependability, Adaptability and Environment. The result is the revolutionary C-B Level Master low water cutoff and pump control using the proven magnetostrictive technology (used for many years in various industries for measuring level and distance relationships) in conjunction with a solid state sensor and microprocessor based controller.
Simplicity
- Magnetostrictive technology eliminating levers and switches
- Non contact and non wearing titanium float
- User friendly controller with easy to read parameters/alarms
- Uses single phase power to a central connection point
- Controller uses plug-in connectors for easy exchange
- Can be used for on/off pump operation or modulating feed
Safety
- Column blowdown reminders and message it’s been done properly or improperly
- System allows for checking the auxiliary low water cutoff and its proper operation
- Float movement is constantly checked; stuck float shuts boiler down
- Electrics and microprocessor circuits checked several times per second for continuity and performance
- Low water shutdown and alarming
- High and low water warnings
- Alarm and blowdown history logging with time and date stamps
Security
- Password protected regarding level settings and alarm and blowdown history files
- On going level indication; easy to see and read exactly
Dependability
- Alarm and blowdown history logging
- Blowdown reminders
- Constant checking of electrics/electronics
- Remote communication access (RS-232)
Adaptability
- Direct replacement and retrofittable to all makes of boilers
- On/off or modulating boiler feed control with same unit
Environment
- C-B Level Master eliminates the mercury!
