Vectren Corporation, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, is an energy and applied technology holding company with $3.4 billion in assets. Approximately 75% of Vectren's earnings mix is derived from utility operations with the other 25% from non-regulated businesses .
Vectren's energy delivery subsidiaries provide gas and/or electricity to nearly one million customers in adjoining service territories that cover nearly two-thirds of Indiana and west central Ohio. Vectren's gas distribution group provides gas to over 980,000 customers while the electric distribution group services over 136,000 customers. Vectren is also a low-cost provider of wholesale power in southwestern Indiana. Installed generating capacity is 1,351 MWs with total capacity at 1,519 MWs and a targeted reserve margin of 15% or higher.
Vectren’s non-regulated sub-sidiaries and affiliates currently offer energy-related products and services to customers throughout the midwest and southwest. These include gas marketing and related services; coal production and sales; utility infrastructure services.
Vectren Energy Delivery is comprised of three utilities.
- Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana - North: Provides natural gas service to 49 counties in central and southeastern Indiana.
- Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana - South: Provides natural gas and electric service to 10 counties in southwestern Indiana.
- Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio: Provides natural gas service to 17 counties in west central Ohio.
