The molten alumina is siphoned from the smelting pot and is either formed into ingots, transferred to an alloying furnace prior to casting, or transferred to an on-site processing plant where rolling ingots, extrusion billets, sheets, or rod is formed. In some cases, the molten aluminum is trucked to nearby foundries for casting.
