Hydrogenics, based in Woodbridge, Ontario, has been in business since 1995, making fuel-cell components. It's developing its own fuel cells for the transportation and power-generation markets. The company warns investors that the market for fuel cells is just being created. Hydrogenics develops and manufactures integrated PEM fuel cell systems. We are executing a plan that takes products along an evolutionary path, selling first to the premium power markets and fuel cell R&D markets that exist today, and eventually to broader marketing as fuel cells overcome cost and infrastructure issues.
Hydrogenics HyUPS(TM) fuel cell power generator is a stationary power product developed to meet critical backup power needs across multiple markets. The initial target market for this product is the demanding telecommunications industry. Press Releases, Recent News October 17, 2001 Detroit -- General Motors Corp. will get a stake of as much as 28 percent in Hydrogenics Corp. as part of an alliance with the fuel-cell company to develop the low-pollution technology to power cars and trucks.
