GE Distributed Power is a GE
Power Systems business which markets midrange power generation equipment,
replacement parts and services. The GE Distributed Power serves customers
with products that include reciprocating generator-sets, co-generation
systems, EPC power plants, and long-term service agreements, including
financing.
The generation products are capable of operating on various fuels, including
natural gas, bio gases, synthetic gases, diesel fuel, and heavy (residual)
fuels. The product portfolio ranges from 300 kW to 15,000 kW unit size.
Total project solutions contain multiple units adding up to as much as
150 MW.
GE Distributed On-Site Power Solutions focuses on the use of reciprocating
technology for power and Combined Head and Power (CHP) applications.
The product portfolio ranges from 300 kW to 2,800 kW. The Series 3 and
6 engines, (manufacturered by Jenbacher) including the J312, J316, J320,
J612, J616, and J620, are capable of burning exotic gases such as landfill
gas as well as more typical natural gas. This series of engines has a
simple cycle efficiency which is among the highest in the world for natural
gas engines of this size.
