Blue
Point Energy

BluePoint Energy, Inc. designs,
assembles and sells modular, completely packaged, plug-and-play combined
heat and power (CHP) generation under the brand name Lean-One™ CHP
Module to utilities, energy service companies, and a wide range of commercial
end users in need of reliable, efficient, ultra-clean, and cost effective
energy solutions.
BluePoint Energy began operation
as a development stage company in April of 2001, when it merged as a public
company under its former name of Chapeau, Inc., with Specialized Energy
Products, Inc., a privately held Nevada corporation, with the intent to
customize natural gas fueled engines and control panels with proprietary
and patented technology for use in the development, assembly and distribution
of packaged cogeneration and power generation systems to the evolving
requirements of the electrical power market.
Since inception, BluePoint
has focused its resources on acquiring and developing state of the art
proprietary technology to support its goal of becoming the leader in providing
a reliable cost effective “turnkey” approach to the distributed
generation (DG) market.

Heat Recovery
The BluePoint Energy Lean-One
260 kW can produce hot water at 198F in standard configuration or up
to 211F with the high-heat option.
Emissions
NOx = 2.3 ppm
NOx adjusted to 15% O2 = 0.6 ppm
NOx = 0.009 g/bhp-hr
CO = 150.9 ppm
CO adjusted to 15% O2 = 42.8 ppm
CO = 0.344 g/bhp-hr
Lean-One™
stands for “Lean-burn, Lamda value 1”, a process that combines
the ultra low emissions capabilities of a stoichiometric-catalyst package
with the high efficiency and power density of a lean burn prime mover
through the use of an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) design. All of
this is achieved without the use of expensive SCR (selective catalyst
reduction) systems while maintaining exceptionally high electrical efficiency
and package maintenance costs under 1.2 cents per kilowatt hour.
From
a BluePoint Energy Press Release May 2002:
BluePoint Energy Products, Inc. (BluePoint) announced today that it
has received testing results from Best Environmental, a Livermore, California
based California Air Resources Board (CARB) certified laboratory stating
that the new BluePoint Co-Generation system utilizing its proprietary
"Lean-One" emission technology has dramatically exceeded the
strict air emission requirements of the State of California and particularly
the requirements of the South Coast Air Quality Management District
(SCAQMD), the most restrictive air containment zone in the U.S.
Chief Executive Officer, Guy Archbold stated, "NOx emissions requirements
for the State of California are not to exceed 0.90 grams NOx per horsepower
hour. In the highly publicized area of Southern California, emissions
are tightly monitored by the SCAQMD. The requirement is a super low
0.15 grams NOx per horsepower hour and represents among the lowest requirement
in the nation, if not the world. BluePoint's results registered 0.038
grams NOx per horsepower hour, nearly 60% below the SCAQMD requirement.
These successful results by a CARB certified laboratory are a significant
milestone in the sub-Megawatt Co-Generation marketplace. BluePoint will
now begin marketing its "Lean-One" System Nationwide and in
the demanding California Market, particularly in the Southern portion
of the State.
