The Oak Ridge Utility District of Anderson, and Roane Counties, Tennessee is an independent non-profit utility with its own Charter granted by the State of Tennessee in 1951. Oak Ridge Utility District currently serves more than 11,000 customers. All corporate powers are vested in and exercised by a five member Board of Commissioners, who meets monthly. In addition, the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, the Utility Management Review Board, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulate portions of the District's activities.
